Jong Su Kim

Professor

Biography

Professor Jong Su Kim was born in Uiryeong, South Korea. He received his B.S. in Physics from Yeungnam University and his Ph.D. in Physics from Yeungnam University. After postdoctoral training insemiconductor nanomaterialsat the NationalInstitute for materials Science (NIMS) Japan,he returned to Korea to begin his independent career at Advanced Photonic Research Institute (APRI) in 2006. He currently is a Professor of Physicsat Yeungnam University. He also serves as the vice Director of the Institute of Clean Technology at Yeungnam University.

His research focuses on hetero-interface of semiconductors and fabrication of semiconductor quantum nanostructures, including quantum ring and quantum dots. Another major interest of his group is optical properties of semiconductor quantum nanostructures and compound semiconductor solar cells. His research combines tools from epitaxial growth for compound semiconductors, optical spectroscopy, Time-resolved spectroscopy and Electrical characterization.
