Biography
Prof. Rao was born in India. After finishing his post graduation program in the Nuclear physics department of Andhra University, he did M.Phil and Ph.D. He obtained post graduation in the field of education too. He joined in the Andhra University as a faculty member in 1994, since then teaching post graduation and guiding research scholars to obtain M.Phil and Ph.D degrees. So far he guided 6 candidates to obtain M.Phil and 9 scholars were awarded Ph.D degrees. He did master of information technology from Manipal University and the degree was obtained in 2003.
Three research projects were handled that funded by UGC; BRNS and SERB. Presently he is working in the fields of soft spinel ferrites, elemental analysis by applying nuclear analytical techniques and health physics; he has exposure to the field of atomic physics too. Prof Rao attended several national and international conferences to present his group research work in the mother land and at abroad also. He visited Japan; US and Russia. So far cumulatively the published papers and conference proceedings are more than 70 in his carrier. Prof Rao has collaboration with different national premier research institutes like BARC; IUC-UGC; IOP etc. He gave radio talks on societal usage of radio isotopes and their benefit to the public.
Prof Rao was Head of the department of Nuclear physics in Andhra University from 2009 to 2016. Presently he is the chairman for board of studies in the department.
