Daphney St-Germain is a registred nurse holding a doctorate in Public Health (2007) and is an Associate Professor at Université Laval, in Nursing Faculty, in Quebec City (Canada) for more than 10 years. She is also a researcher at Institut de réadaptation en déficience physique de Québec (a physic rehabilitation center in Quebec city). She has been co-principal investigator of a few researches with Ontario Neurotrauma Rehabilitation from Toronto Rehabilitation studying spinal cord injury issues. Dr. St-Germain has obtained a certification as Patient Safety Trainer (2014) from Kingston University under the leadership of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) also, she acts as member of the Quebec Nurses Corporation’s disciplinary council. Recently, Dr. St-Germain has been chosen among national and international experts to be a member of the brand new Knowledge Translation and Implementation Science Faculty Expert headed by CPSI. This Faculty will support initiatives focusing on behavior changes helping public, healthcare providers and leaders improve effectively patient safety in Canada. According to enhance nurses’ patient safety competencies, two governmental fundings have been granted to her as principal investigator for the research: Approach to design and education of nurses in patients safety : Elaboration of a « reflexive » professional portfolio for a more effective continuity of the skills between the academic environment and the work environment.
