Professor Jung was born in Iowa. She earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a focus on disaster preparedness for emergency department providers with the use of insitu simulation, a Master’s Degree with a focus on acute care adult-gerontology a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. She is an authoritative spokesperson for disaster preparedness, critical care, trauma, simulation use, diverse care settings, outcomes, and global health.
Dr. Jung is an energetic, motivating and highly skilled clinician specializing in critical care settings. Her background includes more than 12 years of experience as a clinician and over 10 years as an educator
She has taught at various colleges and universities both within California and across the country. A member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, California Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Deanna is an advocate for safety and positive patient outcomes. She has published previously. Her articles have been published in Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal, Nursing and Care Open Access Journal, and the Jacksonville Journal-Courier. Deanna has presented at various conferences including Sigma Theta Tau International Biennial Conference, California Association of Colleges of Nursing, Nursing Science International Conference, Health Workforce Initiative Conference, Sigma Theta Tau International Induction Ceremony, Duke University, and UCLA.
